Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. <br /> HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> Other Hazards (Check if applicable) <br /> ❑ Noise Activities likely to generate noise exceeding 85 dB : <br /> Wear hearing protection during these activities . <br /> X Heat Stress Symptoms: <br /> 11 Heat Cramps : Muscular pains and spasms . <br /> C' Heat Exhaustion : Cool, pale, moist skin ; heavy sweating ; dilated <br /> pupils , headache, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, <br /> near normal body temperature. <br /> ❑ Heat Stroke : Hot, red skin ; very small pupils ; high body <br /> temperature ; reduced sweating . <br /> Mitigation : Cool place for breaks : In shade or air-conditioned vehicle. <br /> Monitor personnel using pulse rate and/or blood pressure as well as body temperature. Take frequent breaks in <br /> shaded area. Unzip or remove PPE during breaks and record results of personnel monitoring. Provide drinking <br /> water and/or electrolyte replacement drink. Record the time and duration of all breaks and results of personnel <br /> monitoring . Heat stroke victims must receive emergency medical care . <br /> Hypothermia/Frostbite Symptoms: <br /> ❑ Hypothermia: Shivering, apathy, loss of consciousness , <br /> decreasing pulse and breathing rate. <br /> E Frostbite : White, then grayish yellow progressing to <br /> grayish blue skin , cold, numb part. <br /> Mitigation : Wear multilayer cold weather outfits covered by a wind resistant fabric . Take frequent breaks in a <br /> warm, sheltered area. Provide warm non-alcoholic drinks . For frostbite victim(s) : warm the injured part gradually, <br /> do not rub !
