This memo serves only as a brief summary of significant activities conducted at the Site <br /> regarding case#390685 and as documentation of the request for"No Further Action." This memo <br /> does not constitute a complete summary of all Site activities. For a complete case history, one <br /> should review the files for this case on GeoTracker(http://geotracker.waterboards.ca.gov), at the <br /> Central Valley Water Board office, and at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJCEHD). SJCEHD has no outstanding issues or objections regarding regulatory closure, and all <br /> record owners of fee title located within 500 feet of the Site's identified petroleum plume were <br /> notified of the request for closure and given 60 days to provide comments. Central Valley Water <br /> Board staff did not receive any comments regarding case closure. <br /> CURRENT SITE USE <br /> This Site is a vacant marina located on a levee along Little Potato Slough adjacent to the <br /> San Joaquin River, and is surrounded by agricultural land. Site infrastructure includes two <br /> 12,000-gallon petroleum above ground storage tanks (ASTs); multiple floating structures, including <br /> fuel dispensers; two surface buildings; and an asphalt parking lot. <br /> CASE SITE HISTORY <br /> In October 1991, Warren E. Gomes Excavation, Inc. (WEGE) removed three petroleum underground <br /> storage tanks (USTs)from the Site on behalf of David Smith, the then president of Herman & <br /> Hellen's Marina (H&H). WEGE did not encounter groundwater in the UST excavation but detected <br /> petroleum constituents in soil samples collected from below the USTs at approximately 9 to 12 feet <br /> KARL E.
