All
personnel are expected to respond to an emergency; therefore, each employee shall receive
training at least annually and to the level at which they will be expected to respond. See
Appendix F- Training Program Details.
LAWTF does not train its employees in emergency response skills beyond that are required for
the hazards of LAWTF operations.
All new employees receive the equivalent of First Responder Awareness Training, as part of
the LAWTF new employee Basic Training. This initial training is upgraded to First Responder
Operations Training once the employee has had the opportunity to participate in one of the
annual drills.
3.1 Response Training Programs
LAWTF personnel are trained in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) standard (29 CFR 1910.120), receive formal release
training, and receive additional training on various Environmental, Health and Safety topics.
