APPENDIX F -TRAINING PROGRAM DETAILS <br /> LAWTF training programs have been developed to ensure facility personnel are properly <br /> prepared to perform their response duties and to be in compliance with applicable <br /> regulations. <br /> LAWTF attempts to capture hazardous materials emergencies and emergencies that may <br /> affect the storage and handling of hazardous materials in a single Contingency Plan. Since the <br /> Contingency Plan covers many topics, the training program must also cover a broad range of <br /> topics. <br /> Employee training has been developed to provide defined levels of response capabilities. <br /> The LAWTF training program consists of three basic elements; <br /> 1. Initial basic emergency response training, <br /> 2. Annual tabletop drills and refresher training, and <br /> 3. HAZWOPER <br /> Initial Basic Emergency Response Training(Classroom) <br /> Designated response personnel are instructed in the following: <br /> 1. Applicable Regulations and programs <br /> 2. Hazard Communication (chemicals, SDS's, labels, etc.) <br /> 3. Types of emergency situations, <br /> 4. Emergency Notifications, <br /> 5. Discharge/ Release Assessment, <br /> 6. Control and Containment, <br /> 7. Material Recovery and Disposal, <br /> 8. Introduction to DOT transportation issues <br /> Annual Tabletop Drills and Refresher Training <br /> Response personnel are annually refreshed by participation in the drill in the following: <br /> 1. HAZCOM Refresher <br /> 2. Emergency Response Refresher <br /> 3. CPR Refresher <br /> 4. Tabletop Drills <br /> HAZWOPER <br /> As required by OSHA for those LAWTF employees subject to emergency response operations <br /> for releases of, or substantial threats of releases of, hazardous substances regardless of the <br /> location of the hazard. <br />
