ACTION GUIDE#12— EVACUATION PROCEDURES
GENERAL INFORMATION:
This procedure is for the accounting of employees, visitors and contractors at the facility. The
Evacuation Plan shall be reviewed with each employee annually. Supervisors shall review the
plan with new employee assigned to them. Contractors working on the premises shall be
briefed on evacuation requirements during their initial Process Safety Orientation.
When an emergency event occurs:
1. Exit the area where incident occurs, and proceed along safe routes (upwind or crosswind)
to an assigned assembly point (see attached plot plan).
2. Shutdown all related non-process equipment, if possible. Only designated personnel with
emergency two-way radios should operate a vehicle in the facility during an emergency.
Contract personnel shall not use personal or company owned vehicles as a means for
evacuation from the plant or storage areas.
3. Evacuees must remain at their assembly areas until released by Emergency Coordinator or
designated alternate.
4. Designated personnel will communicate to the Emergency Coordinator the result of head
counts from their assembly points.
S. The Emergency Coordinator will verify the accounting of personnel using the Sign-in Log
from the Main Office.
