EnviroTech Consultants, Inc. Page 2
Site Investigation: Sampling Report
Louise Avenue Water Treatment Facility
Constituent Limits for"Subtitle D" Lined Cell Disposal. After approval from the Potrero Hills Landfill, the roll-
off bins were taken to the landfill for proper disposal.
EnviroTech collected confirmation samples in six locations of the excavated area. Each confirmation
sample was analyzed for arsenic and vanadium by EPA Method 6010-B.All six of the confirmation samples
contained arsenic concentrations below the SFBRWQCB ESL threshold of 10 mg/kg and the EPA dermal
screening level of 17 mg/kg. Vanadium concentrations detected in all of the samples did not exceed the
SFBRWQCB ESL of 2,400 mg/kg. There is no EPA Dermal Screening Level for vanadium.
EnviroTech recommends mitigation measures to prevent exposure from dust be used, such as placing
clean fill on top of the soils of concern or flagging areas to avoid during high winds that are above the 10
mg/kg SFBRWQCB ESL limit. Knowledge of affected soils and education to prevent exposure is suggested
for all employees working on the site. In Area 3, EnviroTech recommends that the excavated area be
backfilled with clean soil and graded as needed. EnviroTech recommends disposing of the rinsate at the
Veolia Water North America Facility.
5400 Rosedale Highway 0 Bakersfield, CA 93308 Tel 661.377.0073 Fax 661.377.0074
