06/23/2010 16:27 4082517711 OLIVERA PAGE 02
6/23110
RE: Amendment to Manure Management Plan for 952 W. Bowman Rd,
French Camp
Pilot project to handle the manure from ll the belt houses (houses 1-6 and 14),
throughout the year by drying the manure in windrows. In the rainy season the
windrowing will be conducted on a "fly ash" pad in the smaller overflow
lagoon. This pad will be sloped so that accumulated rainwater will be pumped
into the adjacent lagoon, if necessary.
This windrowing will be conducted in accordance with the San Joaquin Valley Air
Pollution Control District Permit N-7652- -2. The manure will be turned by a
compost turning machine a minimum of tvAce a week for aeration for drying and
prevention of fly breeding.
Odors will be minimized by maintaining the windrows in an aerobic state. Fly
breeding will be controlled by a combination of iarvacide and insecticide
application as necessary.
The windrow will be monitored by a temperature probe (48" reotemp)to insure
the windrow temperature remains under 122 degrees. If the temperature
approaches 122 degrees the windrow will be turned more frequently as
necessary to remain under a 122 degree threshold.
The resulting dried manure will be moved off site before the following rainy
season.
Edward Olivera, Jr.
Managing Partner
