The absorbent collection drum may not be placed inside a <br /> restroom. <br /> Acceptable Materials <br /> • clay absorbents (oil dry) with used oil, anti-freeze, or brake fluid, <br /> • oily paper towels, <br /> • oily rags, <br /> • PPE soaked with oil, and <br /> • soda ash used to neutralize spilled battery acid. <br /> Unacceptable Materials <br /> • oil filters, paints, solvents and soil <br /> Batteries <br /> In this chapter, you'll learn about: <br /> • used battery recycling, and <br /> • battery acid spills. <br /> Used lead-acid automotive batteries are considered hazardous waste in the <br /> state of California. Follow the steps below when a customer brings in a <br /> battery for recycling. <br /> 1.
