All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The life ring is floating in the pool and has no rope attached, attach a rope that can reach the entire <br /> length of the pool and make it readily available to toss.The pool operator must have adequate equipment for saving people <br /> in case of an emergency. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained,readily visible,and available for use.Pools shall have at <br /> minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br /> rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br /> (CCR 65540) <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br /> OBSERVATIONS:There is a light out in the pool. Fix within two weeks. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the <br /> pool. When a pool is used at night,pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is <br /> not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating"NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK"and shall <br /> secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark. (31158) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Chlorine in the pool is measured at 1.2 ppm,this is below the minimum concentration the pool operator <br /> must maintain when using cyanuric acid. <br /> Also, Use the automatic chlorinator in the pump room instead of placing tablets in the skimmers. <br /> Fix within one week. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine.
