When reporting the emergency provide the following <br /> information: <br /> o Type of Emergency <br /> o Request an Ambulance <br /> o Location and Name of the Victim <br /> o Condition of the Victim <br /> o Any dangerous conditions <br /> o Assign a person to direct arriving emergency units. <br /> Your Name and a contact phone number (the dispatcher will need a direct line to <br /> contact to you (i.e. cell phone, direct line to desk phone). <br /> Do not move the individual unless authorized by some medical authority, or it is <br /> obvious that delay in movement would be detrimental to the individual. <br /> ❖ If the individual is conscious: <br /> Call for an ambulance (911) if requested by the individual. When reporting the <br /> emergency provides the following information: <br /> o Type of Emergency <br /> o Request an Ambulance <br /> o Location of the Victim <br /> o Condition of the Victim <br /> o Any dangerous conditions <br /> o Assign a person to direct arriving emergency units <br /> If the individual does not request an ambulance, then assist the individual, in the <br /> form of transportation, to the proper medical treatment facility. <br /> •:- Inall cases: <br /> Notify Manger/Supervisor <br /> Notify Emergency Response Team (if applicable) <br /> If personnel trained in First Aid are not available, as a minimum, attempt to provide the <br /> following assistance: <br /> Stop the bleeding with firm pressure on the wounds (note: avoid contact with <br /> blood or other bodily fluids). <br /> Clear the air passages using the Heimlich Maneuver in case of choking. <br /> In case of rendering assistance to personnel exposed to hazardous materials, consult <br /> the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and wear the appropriate personal protective <br /> equipment. <br /> Attempt first aid ONLY if trained and qualified. <br /> 11 <br />
