Notify the local Fire Department by calling 911.. <br /> i.Type of Emergency <br /> ii.Company Name <br /> iii.Company Address <br /> iv.Location of the Fire <br /> v.Evacuation Status <br /> vi. Any dangerous conditions <br /> d. Send employees to meet and direct fire trucks to location of fire <br /> 2. If the fire alarm is not available, notify the site personnel about the fire <br /> emergency by any of the following means: <br /> • Voice Communication • Radio <br /> • Phone Paging . Other <br /> 3. Upon being notified about the fire emergency, occupants must.- <br /> a. Leave the building using the designated escape routes. <br /> b. Assemble in the designated area (specify location): <br /> c. Remain outside until the competent authority (Designated Official or <br /> designee) announces that it is safe to reenter. <br /> 4. If trained to use a fire extinguisher, attempt to extinguish small fires until relieve <br /> by the fire department or until it is apparent that you can not extinguish the fire. <br /> a. Employees must never attempt to control or extinguish a fire which may <br /> jeopardize their safety. <br /> b. Never use water on an electrical or flammable liquid fire. Use a dry <br /> chemical or carbon dioxide extinguisher only. <br /> c. When using a dry chemical extinguisher on a flammable liquid fire, stay <br /> back a minimum of 10 feet from the fire. <br /> d. Start at the leading edge of the fire and use a side to side sweeping action <br /> to extinguish the fife <br /> 17 <br />
