Since the oily water containers have been on site longer than 90 days, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD by 8-30-12. 804. Nine universal waste(UW) lamps were left in open containers. One UW lamp was not in a container. A UW handler shall contain any lamp in a container or package that is structurally sound, adequate to prevent breakage, and compatible with the contents of the lamp.. Such a container or package shall remain closed and shall lack evidence of leakage, spillage or damage that could cause leakage under reasonably foreseeable conditions. During the inspection the employee transferred the UW lamps to a larger box and closed it. Continue to ensure that UW lamps are managed per Title 22 Hazardous Waste Regulations. 808. Ten UW lamps were not labeled as Universal Waste Lamps. Lamps or a container or package in which the lamps are contained, shall be labeled or marked clearly with the following phrase: "Universal Waste -Lamp(s)". During the inspection the employee transferred the UW lamps to a larger box, closed it, and labeled it as Universal Waste Lamps. Continue to ensure that UW lamps are managed per Title 22 Hazardous Waste Regulations. 809. Six of the UW lamps lacked documentation of when it became a UW. A UW handler shall be able to demonstrate the length of time that the UW has been accumulated from the date it became a waste or was received. During the inspection the employee added an accumulation start date to each lamp. Continue to ensure that UW lamps are managed per Title 22 Hazardous Waste Regulations. Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form with a statement of how each violation was corrected, including supporting documentation, by 8-30-12. ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
