A systematic approach to the management of wastes generated from C&S Whole-"VIRONNIENTAL <br /> Grocers, Inc.(C&S)Warehouse and Trailer Shop facilities as required to maintain HFAITN 11=607AAckly <br /> compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. <br /> 1.2. This Waste Management Program(Program)sets the guidelines and criteria for <br /> managing wastes which are determined to be either Hazardous under federal regulations <br /> or Regulated by individual states. <br /> 2. SCOPE <br /> 2.1. This procedure applies to the management of regulated waste at all C&S owned/operated <br /> trailer shops and warehouse facilities. <br /> 2.1.1.State-specific Waste Management Procedures are included in State Specific <br /> Appendices of this Program. <br /> 3. RATIONALE <br /> 3.1. Waste Management Procedures were developed to assist with compliance with the <br /> requirements of the following regulations: <br /> 3.1.1. Code of Federal Regulations 40 CFR Parts 260-268,273 and 279, Resource <br /> Conservation Recovery Act(RCRA) <br /> 3.1.2. Code of Federal Regulations 49,Chapter 1, Subchapter C, Parts 100-185, <br /> Department of Transportation(DOT) <br /> 3.1.3. State-specific regulatory references are included in State Specific Appendices. <br /> 4. DEFINITIONS <br /> Accumulation Start Date—The first day on which the on-site storage time(number of days) <br /> begins to be counted. <br /> Central Waste Storage Area—The designated area at the facility, identified by signage, for the <br /> storage of full containers of RCRA regulated or State regulated waste materials. <br /> Container—A device in which a material is stored,transported,treated,disposed of or otherwise <br /> handled. <br /> EPA—Environmental Protection Agency <br /> EPA Identification (ID)Number—a unique number used to identify each handler of hazardous <br /> waste which enables regulators to track waste from its origin to its final destination("cradle-to- <br /> grave"). <br />
