Title: Waste Management Program CEHS-0036 <br /> Warehouse and Trailer Shop Facilities Page 4 of 20 <br /> Approved by:Senior Vice President Compliance&Administration Issue No.4 <br /> Date:Aug.2014 <br /> Exempted Waste—Waste that is specifically excluded from the requirements presented in Code <br /> of Federal Regulations 40 CFR Parts 260-268,273 and 279, Resource Conservation Recovery <br /> Act(RCRA). <br /> Generator Status—A classification for a facility generating waste, based on the quantity of <br /> RCRA regulated waste and Universal Hazardous Waste that is generated and stored on-site. <br /> Hazardous Waste—A waste which meets the definition presented in EPA(RCRA) regulation 40 <br /> CFR§261.3. A waste determined to be Hazardous by the method set forth in EPA (RCRA) <br /> regulation 40 CFR§262.11,and is therefore, RCRA regulated. <br /> Incompatible Waste—A waste that is not suitable for: (a) Placement in a particular device or <br /> facility because it may cause corrosion or decay of containment materials(e.g., container inner <br /> liners or tank walls); or(b)Commingling with another waste or material under uncontrolled <br /> conditions because the commingling might produce heat or pressure,fire or explosion,violent <br /> reaction,toxic dusts, mists,fumes, or gases,or flammable fumes or gases. <br /> Regulated—Controlled or directed by rule or law. <br /> RCRA Regulated Waste—Waste that is subject to the requirements presented in Code of <br /> Federal Regulations 40 CFR Parts 260-268,273 and 279, Resource Conservation Recovery Act <br /> (RCRA). <br /> Satellite Accumulation Area—An area designated for containers accumulating waste <br /> at or near the point of generation. <br /> Secondary Containment—Impervious surface/base designed to keep spilled liquids from <br /> contact with containers and will contain 10%of the total containers or 110%of largest container. <br /> Shipping Document—Paperwork signed by the generator to document the off-site shipment of <br /> waste materials. Sample shipping documents are included in Appendices AA through DD. <br /> State Regulated Waste—Waste that is subject to the requirements presented in state-specific <br /> environmental regulations. <br /> Universal Waste—Designated wastes which may be managed under streamlined hazardous <br /> waste management standards; federally designated universal wastes include: batteries, pesticides, <br /> mercury-containing equipment, and lamps. <br /> Universal Waste Storage Area(s)—The designated area(s)for the storage of accumulation <br /> containers or full containers of Universal Waste. <br /> Used Oil—Any petroleum product that has been refined from crude oil (in whole or in part),or <br /> any synthetic oil that has been used and as a result of such use is contaminated by physical or <br /> chemical impurities. Used oil is a free-flowing liquid at standard temperature and pressure and <br /> has a flash point of greater than 100 degrees(F).
