CEHS-0036 <br /> Title: Waste Management Program Page 12 of 20 <br /> Warehouse and Trailer Shop Facilities <br /> Approved by: Senior Vice President Compliance&Administration Issue No.4 <br /> Date:Aug.2014 <br /> 8.3.4.2. C&S procedure requires that RCRA-regulated and State-regulated <br /> waste containers are shipped off-site for treatment, disposal, or <br /> recycling within 180 days from the date the container becomes full <br /> and the accumulation start date is entered on the label. <br /> 8.3.4.3. C&S procedure requires that hazardous waste accumulation <br /> containers for RCRA-regulated and State regulated wastes are <br /> moved to the Central Waste Storage Area within 3 days from <br /> the date the container becomes full. <br /> 8.3.4.4. In accordance with regulations,containers of Universal Waste may <br /> be stored for up to one year from the date that the first universal <br /> waste item is placed into the container and the accumulation start <br /> date is entered on the label. <br /> 8.4. Storage Area(s) <br /> 8.4.1. Hazard warning signage identifying a"Hazardous Waste"storage area as <br /> such will be posted in each Central Waste Storage/Accumulation Area(s). <br /> Access will be limited to"Authorized Personnel Only". <br /> 8.4.2. Additional requirements apply as follows: <br /> 8.4.2.1. Hazardous Waste(RCRA-regulated)containers <br /> 8.4.2.1.1. Store in areas that provide secondary containment to <br /> prevent runoff of accumulated liquids; <br /> 8.4.2.1.2. The base of the area should be impervious to the <br /> type of waste stored and free from cracks,gaps, <br /> chips,etc.; <br /> 8.4.2.1.3. Store containers n a secondary containment system, <br /> able to contain 100%of the volume of the largest <br /> container or 10%of the volume of all containers in <br /> storage,whichever is greater. <br /> 8.4.3. C&S procedure requires that appropriate emergency equipment, such as a <br /> fire extinguisher and spill response supplies,will be available in the Central <br /> Waste Storage/Accumulation Area(s). <br /> 8.4.4. C&S procedure requires that an inventory log be maintained for each Central <br /> Waste Storage Area(s)and Accumulation Area(s). Waste Inventory Log(s)to <br /> be used for this purpose are provided in Appendices V and W respectively. <br /> 8.5.
