i <br /> CODE OF SAFE PRACTICES <br /> MACHINE OPERATORS <br /> SAFE WORKPLACE CONDITIONS <br /> 1. Machines must be turned off and locked out prior to cleaning or worn tool replacement. <br /> 2. Safety guards and shields must be in place when machines are operating. <br /> 3. Operators must verify at the beginning and end of the shift if the ventilation system is working <br /> properly when required. <br /> 4. Operators must notify maintenance immediately when: <br /> a. The machine is not working properly and/or safety devices are not functioning properly. <br /> b. The cutting oil is not properly draining from machines. <br /> SAFE WORK PRACTICES <br /> 1. Do not operate machines with damaged or worn cutting tools. <br /> 2. Keep floor surfaces in work area clean and dry. <br /> 3. Do not use compressed air to clean clothing. Air pressure through air nozzle must <br /> not exceed 35 psi. <br /> 4. Follow all Company safety rules and policies. <br /> 5. Employees must report all unsafe conditions immediately to a Supervisor. <br /> 6. No horseplay is permitted. <br /> 7. Clean worksite conditions must be maintained at all times. <br /> 8. All Personal Protective Equipment(PPE)required by State or Federal Regulation must be worn. <br /> 9. All equipment guards required by State and Federal Regulations must be in place. <br /> 10. Report all accidents immediately to a Supervisor. <br /> it. Use Lockout/TagoutBlockout procedures when required by State or Federal Regulation. <br /> 12. Inspect equipment prior to each use. <br /> 13. Only operate equipment that you have been trained and authorized to use. <br /> 14. All electrical wiring shall be to code and maintained in safe condition. <br /> 15. Use proper lifting techniques. <br /> 16. Only qualified personnel can perform maintenance services. <br /> 17. Follow all Manufacturers safety guidelines. <br /> 18. Do not operate equipment under the influence of altering prescription drugs,illegal drugs and/or <br /> alcohol. <br /> 19. Ensure that all Warning,Caution and Danger signs are in place. <br /> PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> 1. Safety glasses must be worn in the shop. <br /> 2.
