I <br /> CODE OF SAFE PRACTICES <br /> AUTOMOTIVE (SERVICE TECHNICIANS) <br /> JOB SUMMARY: Services,lubricates,and maintains automotive vehicles. <br /> SKILLS REQUIRED: Detail oriented. General shop skills. Knowledge of automotive mechanics. <br /> Ability to use small hand tools. Able to follow directions and complete tasks. <br /> EMOTIONAL Safety conscious. Ability to handle repetitive work. Follow directions. <br /> STANDARDS: Ability to interact in a multi-cultural environment. <br /> PHYSICAL Good eyesight with or without corrective lenses. <br /> STANDARDS: Strong physical health. Ability to stand for long periods of time. <br /> JOB HAZARDS: Repetitive motions. Working with bent neck. Bending over. Forceful motions. <br /> Exposure to vibrating equipment or tools. Bent wrist or extended elbow or both. <br /> Lifting,twisting and turning. <br /> SAFETY <br /> EQUIPMENT <br /> REQUIRED: Gloves. Hard-toed shoes. Safety glasses. <br /> SAFE CONDITIONS: <br /> Employees shall be properly instructed on the hazards of their work and of safe practices by bulletins, <br /> ( printed rules,verbal instructions and periodic safety meetings. <br /> SAFE PRACTICES <br /> 1. All floors around or near hoist bays must be kept clean of oil or grease spills. All large oil,grease or <br /> antifreeze spills must be cleaned up promptly and logged. After cleaning a spill,log the way you <br /> have cleaned it,the date,time and materials used. Turn tog slieet in to Supervisor for proper filing. <br /> 2. Remove keys from ignition prior to servicing vehicle to avoid injury by premature or negligent <br /> starting of engine while performing service on sante. I <br /> 3. Use caution while working around hot engines,manifold/tailpipes and mufflers to prevent burns. I <br /> Wear gloves when necessary to do so. <br /> 4. When engines are running,use caution to avoid contact with moving parts(fan blades, belts). <br /> S. Follow all Company safety rides and policies. <br /> 6. Employees must report all unsafe conditions and accidents immediately to a Supervisor. <br /> 7. No horseplay is permitted. 1 <br /> 8. Clean worksite conditions must be maintained at all times. <br /> 9. All Personal Protective Equipment(PPE)required by State or Federal Regulation must be worn. <br /> 10. All equipment guards required by State and Federal Regulations must be in place. j <br /> 11. Use Lockout/Tagout/Blockout procedures when required by State or Federal Regulation. <br /> 12. Inspect equipment prior to each use. <br /> 13. Only operate equipment that you have been trained and authorized to use. <br /> 14. All electrical wiring sliall be to code and maintained in safe condition. <br /> 15. Use proper lifting techniques. <br /> 16. Only qualified personnel can perform maintenance services. <br /> 17. Follow all Manufacturers safety guidelines. <br /> 18. Do not operate equipment under(lie influence of altering prescription drugs,illegal drugs and/or <br /> alcohol. <br /> 19. Ensure that all Warning,Caution and Danger signs are in place. <br />
