e <br /> A. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS / <br /> t <br /> California Waste Removal Systems Inc. ( WRS) currently operates a solid waste transfer <br /> station and resource recovery facility on 12 acres of land at 1333 East Turner Road, Lodi, <br /> CA. (Figures 1 through 3). This facility serves the City of Lodi, northern San Joaquin <br /> County, and southern Sacramento County. It is open to both commercial and public vehicles. <br /> The facility (39-AA-017) operates under a Solid Waste Facility Permit issued by the San <br /> Joaquin County Health Department (the LEA) on September 15, 1980. <br /> The existing permit allows for a large volume transfer station and resource recovery station on <br /> a six acre site, open to commercial and )public vehicles. <br /> Currently, the station receives approximately 450 tons per day with daily peak loadings of up <br /> to 650 tons per day. This material is dumped and sorted in the 15,000-square-foot tipping <br /> floor building. Figures 4 and 4A show the tipping floor building and the existing site plan for <br /> the facility. The current facility allows California Waste to sort and recover up to <br /> approximately 20% of the volume as recyclable material. <br /> In order to help meet the goals of AB 939 for the City of Lodi and the counties of San Joaquin <br /> and Sacramento, CWRS would like to increase the percentage of material to be recovered. In <br /> order to do this the size of the tipping floor needs to be increased and additional equipment <br /> added. This will allow more refuse to be sorted and the ability to segregate and process <br /> various types of refuse for better efficiency. It will also allow some of the recovery operations <br /> that are currently being performed outside to be accomplished indoors. <br /> The proposed expansion will add an additional 89,000 square feet to the existing <br /> 17,000-square-foot building. This will increase the resource recovery capability from the <br /> current 650 tons per day of incoming refuse to 2,000 tons per day. <br /> Figures 1 through 3 show the location of the facility. <br /> The existing site plan is shown on Figures 4 and 4A and the site plan for the proposed <br /> expansion is shown on Figures 5 and 5A. <br /> Figure 6 is the property plan of the area to be permitted. <br /> Figure 7 shows the surrounding land use and structures within 1,000 feet of the facility. <br /> I <br /> MISVIaaxosvat 1 <br /> �. 1992 <br />
