A J OA U I Environmental Health Department <br /> COUNTY <br /> Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br /> Facility Name: Facility Address: Date: <br /> GARDELLA FARMS 3003 N DUNCAN RD, LINDEN October 08, 2020 <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> (CLASS I,CLASS II,or MINOR-Notice to Comply) <br /> Item# Remarks <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7 Empty HW or HM container greater than 5 gallons not managed per this section. <br /> OBSERVATION: Six 55-gallon empty metal containers, which previously held gear and engine oils were observed <br /> immediately outside the roundup/new oil storage shed without the appropriate labeling. Mr. Gardella indicated that <br /> these containers have been there for more than 1 year and were not picked up by his waste disposal contractor. <br /> Also, one 55-gallon empty metal container, which previously held new lubricating oil, and was recently emptied, also <br /> had no appropriate labeling. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: Empty containers which previously held a hazardous material, including hazardous <br /> waste must be managed per Title 22 California Code of Regulations (CCR)section 66261.7. Refer to this section <br /> and California Department of Toxic Substances Control guidance for more information. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately label all empty containers with the date they were emptied and manage <br /> within one year of that date. Manage the container per Title 22 CCR section 66261.7. Provide a corrective action <br /> statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD) <br /> within 30 days. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, by [DATE, 30 days from now] . <br /> To minimize person to person contact EHD is choosing to write the name of person receiving the report instead <br /> of having them sign. Starting September 1, 2018, all in-office CERS help will be provided at EHD hourly rate <br /> ($152). To schedule an appointment, please call (209) 468-3420. <br /> Documents provided during inspection: HHWF brochure, sample hazardous waste labeling, state ID (EPA ID) <br /> form and instructions, schedule of free EHD classes, and modified contingency plan template. <br /> This facility routinely generates the following wastes: waste oils. No waste oil storage containers were observed <br /> onsite at the time of inspection.
