Existin and Proposed Septic Tank Usage Existing Septic System One septic system is currently located on the Site to serve the existing home (Plate 2). Proposed Septic System Ms. Delapena plans to install a new septic system for the new residence. On-Site Septic Permit History The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were searched for the Site address. One septic permit was identified. The permit, dated July 2019, was for a new residential septic system including a 1,200-gallon septic tank, two 55-foot leach lines, and two 42-inch diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits. This permit has been included in Appendix 4 of this report. Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 50 septic systems per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site. The Site is located within an area of mixed rural residential lots, vineyards, other agricultural land, and commercial properties. The Lodi Airport is located approximately 500 feet south of the Site. Septic Permit History in the Vicinity Based on a review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, septic systems in the area utilize leach lines with 3- to 5-foot diameter seepage pits. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this report. Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage Maximum expected usage on the Site will be from the current and future residents of the Site. Septic system design should be based on the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems Standards (2017) or other engineering recommendations. LOGE 20-38 Page 2
