7-Eleven <br /> Designated Operator Training <br /> Note: For COCM sites notify VIXXO at(877) 655-7040 instead of FM. <br /> Check Scheduling Comments on site Daily DO report for COCM. <br /> UST review(tank diagram/photos) <br /> Show how alarm panel, tanks, and dispensers are connected <br /> Gas in sump/UDC is dangerous and law requires immediate response <br /> Show how fuel can get to sumps & UDC's causes alarms on the alarm panel <br /> Ask questions, such as, Who has seen people smoking out on forecourt? <br /> Explain how gas is volatile &flammable—vapors can ignite <br /> Inform that tampering with or disabling monitoring equipment is against the law(employee can be <br /> prosecuted). <br /> Alarms <br /> Show employees alarm panel location <br /> Alarm Response—ask who has responded to alarms and what did they do? <br /> o Notify FM at (800) 828-0711 or create a case online for any priority alarms suggesting a <br /> potential release so that they will be dispatched to the designated maintenance contractor. <br /> o Alarms logged in the Repair Log located in the Red binder— Document date, time, alarm <br /> type, and action taken. Contractor to complete "work preformed". <br /> o Receive work order form from maintenance contractor for clearing alarm condition—need <br /> to be able to prove that there was no problem or problem was fixed <br /> o File document(s) in site's Black Box. <br /> o Alarm panel inspected daily. Panel should indicate "All Functions Normal"—ask <br /> questions, such as, who is responsible for this? Manager?Assistant Manager? Owner? <br /> o Call in all alarms except delivery needed. If an overfill alarm occurs on the monitoring <br /> panel and alarm outside then verify that the driver does not spill. <br /> Carbon Dioxide <br /> Locate and point out the CO2 tank <br /> o CO2 is a compressed gas used by 7-Eleven for beverage carbonation <br /> o CO2 is naturally occurring, non-flammable, and non-toxic at normal concentrations <br /> o It is colorless and odorless, but at high concentrations it can cause asphyxiation <br /> Protective Measures <br /> o Know where your CO2 storage tank is located <br /> o Examine the storage tank regularly. Immediately report any suspected problems. <br /> o A release may be indicated by a hissing sound or ice on valves. <br /> o Be alert to the warning signs of CO2 exposure: <br /> ■ At low concentrations you may experience headache, increased heart rate, <br /> dizziness and fatigue, rapid breathing, or visual and hearing dysfunctions. <br /> ■ Exposure to higher levels may cause unconsciousness or death within minutes of <br /> exposure. <br /> Working with CO2 Safely <br /> o If a CO2 leak is detected, evacuate personnel from the building. Open doors and windows. <br /> Contact FM for assistance 800-828-0711. <br /> o Do not attempt to fix a leak. Direct contact with liquefied CO2 can cause severe freezing of <br /> skin or frostbite. <br /> o If you or a coworker experience symptoms of CO2 exposure: <br /> ■ Move outside into fresh air <br /> ■ For severe exposure or unconsciousness, call 911 <br /> Emergency Procedures <br /> Emergency Contacts/"Quick" Procedures <br /> o Ask questions, such as, who knows where to find emergency procedures and phone <br /> numbers? <br /> 7-11 Designated Operator Training July 15,2018 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
