o Employees are shown Emergency Preparedness Procedures flip book and its contents <br /> (Flip book should be posted in a conspicuous location). <br /> o Review contents in general <br /> o Important to have accurate 24 hour site contact(manager) and FM at (800) 828-0711. <br /> Ask manager to correct or fill in if necessary. <br /> MSDS <br /> o Show the response procedures of the hazardous chemicals found on site (includes CO2). <br /> o Reference in the event of ingestion, contact or exposure to hazardous chemicals. <br /> o Ask where and go to MSDS location (White UST binder Immediate Response tab). <br /> Monitoring Response Plan/Business Emergency Response Plan <br /> o Employees shown plan location <br /> o Plan located in White UST binder behind "Immediate Response"tab. <br /> o Sections of the plans (purpose and contents overview), more details, submitted to agency <br /> as commitment. Employee responsibilities are included. <br /> o Emergency Contacts (should be same as above) <br /> o Verify site map to confirm locations of chemicals and emergency equipment is accurate. <br /> o Emergency Meeting Area—ask employees where do you meet if you must evacuate <br /> Forms <br /> The stores are required to fill out these forms. Show each form to site. <br /> Daily Inspection form —Vapor recovery equipment inspection (spill buckets, hanging hardware) <br /> Repair log— Record all repairs to gas equipment. Employees should make sure that contractors <br /> should fill out the log and then file the service ticket (work order) in the black box. <br /> Spill log—record all spills that require absorbent to clean up. <br /> Weekly drum inspection—check hazardous waste drum at least weekly. <br /> Alarm log —log all Veeder Root alarms and warnings. <br /> SpillResponse <br /> Minor Spill Response—manageable by site <br /> o Always look for spills near the dispensers and tank pad. If you see gas on the ground it <br /> needs to be cleaned. <br /> o Ask questions, such as, who has dealt with a spill? What did you do? <br /> o Attempt to contain immediately—never wash down a storm drain. <br /> o Instruct customers to move out of area and restrict access using barricade, cones and/or <br /> delineators - caution tape if necessary. <br /> o Ask questions, such as, what do you need to bring with you to go out and clean up a spill? <br /> ■ Use spill/absorbent material to contain spill—ask where and go to spill kit/PPE <br /> location. <br /> ■ Use appropriate PPE (safety vest, nitrile gloves, safety glasses or goggles). Ask <br /> where and go to equipment location. <br /> ■ Spread absorbent on the spill. Sweep back and forth to ensure all gasoline is <br /> absorbed. Remove absorbent as soon absorbed. Do not let it sit on ground (can <br /> blow away). <br /> Gasoline is hazardous, volatile flammable, carcinogenic <br /> o Benzene—Carcinogen <br /> o Inhalation (breathing in fuel, exhaust, etc.) <br /> o Absorption (through the skin) <br /> Dispose of used materials in waste drums <br /> ■ Waste drum location-Solid waste (absorbent, rags, filters, hoses) & Liquid waste <br /> (spill buckets, sumps, test water). 7-11 is responsible for solid waste and liquid <br /> waste, so call FM (800) 828-0711 for removal. <br /> ■ Batteries (i.e.car battery) should never be placed in or near waste containers, <br /> especially if damaged the reaction may cause an explosion. Call FM (800) 828- <br /> 0711 immediately for removal if left onsite. <br /> ■ Drum lock combination is last or first 4 digits of store ID number. <br /> ■ Drum labeling and Waste accumulation timelines (initial and second deposit). <br /> ■ Weekly drum inspection—check hazardous waste drum at least weekly. <br /> ■ Contact FM (800) 828-0711 if drum is >_ 75% or if accumulation start date exceeds <br /> 12 months. <br /> 7-11 Designated Operator Training July 15,2018 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br />
