Mr. Edward Padilla
August 5, 1994
Page Two
April 15, 1995
July 15, 1995
Results of the test should be available by the 15th of the following
month.
3. Leachate Testing
Due to the present dry weather conditions, no leachate is currently
being produced from the green compost windrows. In order to
conserve freshwater during wetter months, we are currently in the
process of installing a leachate management system that will recycle
any leachate collected back on to the windrows. A drawing of our
leachate collection and management system is enclosed. If the
proposed compost regulations being considered by the CIWMB are not
in place by the wet season, we will gladly test our leachate for Organo-
phosphates and nitrates and provide you with the results for your
records (note that the new proposed regulations do not require leachate
testing).
4. Additionally, enclosed is the completed CIWMB Form 5000 concerning
Pathogen Reduction Standards certification for our facility.
We appreciate your spending the time with us to help clarify the regulations,
as well as your expectations. If you have any questions, please feel free to
call me at CWRS, or call George Eowan or Blake Tresan at Integrated
Recycling, Inc. at (916) 325-2577. Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
qa,(—,/ ' ,
Yd'ck Fiori
Plant Manager
Enclosures: Drawing(s) Leachate Collection & Management System
Completed CIWMB Form 5000
cc: Integrated Recycling, Inc.
/prg
F:\home\paula\padilla.ltr
