The containers <br /> were: <br /> 1.A 30-or 55-gallon black poly drum, storing damaged liquid hand and body soaps, anti-bacterial hand sanitizer <br /> gels, scented candles, and fragrance mists, was missing the words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of <br /> generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition (contents), and accumulation start date. Gloria Alonzo, <br /> Store Manager, labeled the drum with the required information at the time of inspection. <br /> 2.A tote storing damaged scented candles, hand soaps,fragrance mists, and fragrance wall plug-ins,was missing <br /> the words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of generator, physical state, and accumulation start date. <br /> 3.A tote storing a damaged fragrance mist was missing the words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of <br /> generator, physical state, and accumulation start date. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: the <br /> words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition <br /> (contents), and accumulation start date. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately label the containers as required for hazardous waste. Provide a corrective <br /> action statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (EHD)within 30 days. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Notes: <br /> -An inspection checklist was provided to the facility operator on the day of inspection. A complete report was <br /> amended and finished, and replaces the initial checklist on 11/2/2020. <br /> -According to Gloria Alonzo, Store Manager, all employees receive hazardous waste management training in <br /> order to clean up spills of hazardous chemicals and be able to place damaged hazardous items into the <br /> hazardous waste storage containers. <br /> -At least ten blue 5-gallon containers and three white 5-gallon containers, were observed on top of the facility's <br /> electrical box. According to Gloria Alonzo, Store Manager, these 5-gallon containers are empty and were used <br /> to contain and ship the facility's damaged hazardous items before the facility began using the black poly drums <br /> and totes, which are now used to store the facility's damaged hazardous items as hazardous waste. Gloria did <br /> not know where the 5-gallon containers of damaged hazardous items/hazardous waste were shipped to.
