Sample Transports/Deliveries:
As to Lab Testing, we would anticipate that a sample collection Sample Technician/Courier
would be dispatched 2-3 times per week to collect samples from licensed cannabis distributors
and/or microbusinesses from around the region. The courier would arrive the facility for the
work shift around 8:00am, gather tools and equipment necessary for off-site sample collection,
and depart from the facility to gather lab samples from licensees. The courier shall maintain the
appropriate chain of custody documentation for all representative samples of cannabis batches to
be tested.
During transportation of samples the Sample Courier shall:
1. Ensure the cannabis goods are not visible to the public, and are stored in a locked, fully
enclosed box, container or cage that is secured to the inside of the transport vehicle;
2. Ensure the transport vehicle remains locked while unattended;
3. Ensure that a vehicle containing cannabis goods are not left unattended in a residential
area or parked overnight in a residential area;
4. Ensure that the transport vehicle has a fully operational alarm system;
5. Ensure packages or containers holding cannabis goods samples are neither tampered
with,nor opened during transport;
6. Ensure that no person under the age of 21 is present in the transport vehicle while
transporting cannabis;
Sample Management and Testing Process-
Following collection of samples abroad, the courier would return to the facility, log the samples
into the facility's inventory log, and complete all necessary chain of custody documentation as
well as track and trace information which will be entered into the State's `Track and Trace'
System, METRC. Upon arrival to the facility, lab samples will be subject to strict,
comprehensive chain of custody and record keeping protocols. The physical samples will be kept
in sealed, labeled, tamper proof containers and stored in a manner that prevents degradation,
contamination, commingling and/or tampering.
Chain of Custody Policy:
For each cannabis batch sample to be tested, the facility shall maintain a chain of custody form
which contains the following information:
1. Laboratory's name, licensed premises address and license number;
