The Cannabis Business Park is an attractive nuisance. Given the nature of the material being grown
marijuana - it is a highly sought-after product both legally and illegally. The illegal element will be
attracted to such a large-scale project causing increased pressure on local law enforcement. What
measures will be taken to ensure that all the products are apart of legal and lawful operations?
The project applicant states that there will be only ONE security guard. How could a large facility be
properly secure and safe with only one security guard. I would prefer my local law enforcement spend
their time helping residents and highway travelers than securing a cannabis grow site.
Enforcement:
The project applicant outlines gation measures for water use, air/odor pollution, lighting, and
security. Should the project be approved and built, what measures are in place to ensure that operating
standards are maintained? Which departments or agencies will be responsible to enforcing standards
st
that have been presented? Should production and growing standards fall below promised expectations,
what measures will be taken to enforce them? How will the county account for the volume of
production and ensure that the business is operating in a legal and lawful manner?
As a resident of Lockeford I believe these concerns are echoed by my neighbors. The proposed project is
too closely adjacent to neighbors and the town of Lockeford. Again, I oppose this project and would
encourage the planning commission to deny the project application.
