1
Sanfilippo, Giuseppe [CDD]
From:Cherie Segler <seglercherie@yahoo.com>
Sent:Monday, December 21, 2020 7:17 PM
To:Sanfilippo, Giuseppe [CDD]
Subject:application number PA-20000007(PP) and PA-20000094(DA)purposed commercial
cannabis business park
CAUTION: This email is originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the
sender and know the content is safe.

Dear Mr. Sanfilippo, Project Planner
This email is to oppose the proposed Commercial Cannabis Business Park in the existing winery site located at 12470 E.
Locke Rd. Lockeford.
I’m sending this email on behalf of; Cherie Segler and Marcia Kaul 17971 N Tretheway Rd Lockeford, Ca 95237. Dan and
Joann Von Aspern 17832 Tretheway Rd Lockeford, CA 95237 and Debbie Laib and Ron Calcagno 17891 N Tretheway Rd
Lockeford, Ca 95237. We all live at residences near the intersection of Locke Rd and Tretheway Rd.

This is a very congested area and many accidents have occurred with property damage and injury. Locke Rd and Brandt
Rd are two very narrow two lane roads. Located on those roads there is a pallet business, Kellogg fertilizer, Jensen
cement, McLaughlin manufacturing all of these companies have many employees, semitrucks and trailers picking up and
delivering to their sites. Approximately 70 to 80 trucks a day that use Tretheway Rd from Hwy 12 to get to Brandt Rd and
Locke Rd, and back to Hwy 12 on the return trip. The top sign at Locke and Tretheway is of little use people run the sign
or just barely stop.
In addition to these businesses there is vineyard farming and walnut farming both of which have trucks and farm
equipment using these two roads. All in all within a two mile radius this is a very already congested area, and the
addition of more trucks and employees would make this a much more dangerous area.

A major concerned of ours is about ground water depletion and contamination. The purposed amounts of Hemp plants
will deplete an already taxed underground system in this area.

We are concerned about air quality and the smells when the hemp is processed, other areas where these cannabis farms
are located such as in Carpenteria have major problems with air quality. A business like this should be located in a
remoted area and not where they will disrupt the life of so many residents and their families.

Last but not least is the operation hours of 24/7 employees and trucks will be coming through our area day and night
which will greatly disrupt why we all moved out to the county in the first place which was to get away from the noise
and congestion of the city

We would all like to be placed on the notification list for the San Joaquin County Planning Commission hearing date by
you the Project Planner.

Thanks for hearing our concerns and we look forward to the meeting.

Please let me know you received this email.

Sincerely,
Cherie Segler
