' 0 k'q KLEINFELDER <br /> ' sample, collected from a gas well located approximately 150 feet south of the <br /> Mokelumne River, indicated the presence of methane at a concentration of <br /> ' 2.14 percent but did not indicate t e presence of 10 Calderon volatile organic <br /> contaminants at detectable concentrations. <br /> In September 1988, Pintail, Inc., retained Kleinfelder to evaluate whether the site is eligible <br /> for an exemption from the provisions of Section 13273 of the_Cali_fQra Water „uali Ac . <br /> ' In order to be removed from the list of sites required to perform a Solid Waste Assessment <br /> Test (SWAT), the landfill: <br /> o Must contain less than 50,000 cubic yards of waste. <br /> o Must not be known or suspected of containing hazardous substances. <br /> o Must not have discharged hazardous substances that will impact the <br /> beneficial uses of water. <br /> Kleinfelder submitted a work plan to the RWQCB titled "City of Lodi Landfill, Preliminary <br /> ' Assessment Work Plan, Lodi, California," dated September 9, 1988. This work plan <br /> describes the proposed activities to assess the character of the waste, the presence of <br /> ' leachate, and the possibility of leakage into the vadose zone and ground water under the <br /> landfill. This work plan was approved by the RWQCB in a letter dated September 16, <br /> 1988. <br /> Assessment activities were initiated on September 21, 1988.
