1. workers assigned to tasks requiring the use of respirators receive medical <br /> examinations in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.134(e) to ensure they are <br /> physically capable to perform the work and use the equipment, <br /> 2. workers who could potentially be exposed to anthrax spores are covered by a <br /> medical protocol addressing this exposure, and <br /> 3. if a worker is injured, becomes ill, or develops signs or symptoms of possible <br /> over-exposure to hazardous substances or health hazards, medical <br /> examinations are provided to that worker as soon as possible after the <br /> occurrence and as required by the attending physician. <br /> Medical examinations and procedures are performed by or under the supervision of a <br /> licensed physician and are provided to employees free of cost, without loss of pay, and <br /> at a reasonable time and place. The contents of the written opinion are limited to: <br /> a statement of the worker's health status in relation to his/her job duties and a <br /> description of any detected medical condition that could put the worker at <br /> increased risk, <br /> Chapter 5 - 2 <br />
