0
(3'LO1:P_(3M :B. iZAA13 CIVIL ENC,INEEM ...
TELEPHONE 478-7797,8722 SAN PASQUAL WAY, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95210
The disposal site is in an area of Columbia loam soils which
are underlain with various silts and sands deposited by the SanJoaquin
River in the past. No test borings have been made. The disposal area
ground water table is controlled by the height of the water in the
River. This varies from about 3 feet above sea level (normal summer)
fin about 18.9r_?0 fept.above sea level in an extremely wet winter.
Since the bottom of the hole is about at sea level, about 3
feet' of ground water is present in the hole during the summer months.
This will increase in depth during periods of high flow in the River.
No drainage control is attempted since the flucuation of the
water table due to the rise and fall of the river is the major factor
and this does not interfere with the operation of the disposal site.
No attempts have been made to monitor or control leachate since
the waste materials being disposed of are inert materials, for the
most part.
Since the ground water level is reflected or is apparent in
the existing hole, no monitoring wells are in use andro monitoring
program is being carried on.
The disposal site is and will be u.sed.forfarming purposes.
As portions of the hole have been filled, these areas have been leveled
in with the adjoining field and planted to grain or alfalfa. Upon
completion of the filling of the disposal site,.it is intended to
re -level the site and the surrounding fields into a single large
field of about 70 acres which will then be farmed as a unit. '
The operation of -and control of the Disposal Site are entirely
in the control of -George B. Raab, Civil Engineer..
Copies:of .what -permits that I have in 'my files have been
furnished you.
The surrouhding-areas are zoned and are used for agricultural
purposes.
Yours Truly,
George .
