RAA13 CIVIL ENGINEER ... <br />TFixmI )NF 478.7797 .8722 SAN YASQUAL WAY, S'1'O(:K'FON, CALIFORNIA 952111 <br />AUGUST 12, 1977 <br />REPORT ON WINDELER RANCH GLASS DISPOSAL SITE <br />The e UI indeler Ranch Glass Disposal Site is used for the disposal <br />of waste glass or "cullet" and related solid wastes resulting from the <br />manufacturing operations of the Libbsy-Owens-Ford Company at their <br />Lathrop Plant. This operation is carried out in acpdrdance with the <br />leases held by George B. Raab and the agreement between.'LOF and Raab, <br />and the terms of the use permit granted for the operation. Copies <br />are enclosed. <br />Waste materials are stockpiled at the LOF plant and on an <br />approximately annual basis are hauled to the disposal site where <br />they are placed into the hole (formed by the flood of 1908 or <br />thereabouts) and are covered with 4 feet of fill dirt. Fill dirt <br />is obtained from the bottom of the hole'.by .tractor land' scraper•- or <br />dragline. <br />The hauling and disposal work are done during about a month <br />long period during the summer of the year and the site is inactive <br />for the bulk of the year. <br />The operations are from about 6 A.M. to 6 P. M. at the site <br />during the Bummer hauling period. <br />Waste is dumped from the dump trucks and is bulldozed into the <br />hole and later covered with earth by the bulldozer and scraper. <br />Since the only equipment on the site requires only one operator, <br />no sanitary facilities heve been provided. <br />Roads -to the.site have been.paved and dust c®ntrol-in the <br />site area are provided by use of.a water wagon when needed during <br />operations. <br />No salvaging takes place at the site and none is or will be <br />permitted under the present plans for operation. <br />No noise, odor, dust, fly, or rodent problems, or problems <br />of any similar nature have arisen from the operation of the disposal <br />site.. <br />The estimated quantities of waste to be disposed of will fill <br />the site by 1480. <br />21, <br />000039 <br />
