(CES) was retained by American Tire & Truck Repair to <br /> assess one above ground storage tank (AST) containing used oil at your facility located at 8288 <br /> El Dorado St., French Camp, California. The AST has a volume of 550 gallons and is stored in <br /> a metal shed used for truck maintenance and oil changes. <br /> An inspection of the AST was conducted by Tim Cook, P.E. of CES and Raman Patel, P.E. of <br /> RP Associates Inc. The purpose of the inspection was to assess the current physical condition <br /> of the AST system and to gather information required for a Hazardous Waste Tank Assessment <br /> (Assessment) pursuant to 22 CCR §66265.192(k). For ease of review, the Assessment is <br /> organized in the same order as the checklist provided in 22CCR §66265.192(k). <br /> • Tank description, configuration, and gross capacity {22 CCR §66265.192(k)(1)}: <br /> The AST is a shop-fabricated horizontal cylindrical type tank manufactured by Mosier <br /> Brothers, Inc. of Woodlake, CA. The double -wall steel AST has a capacity of 550- <br /> gallons. The tank dimensions are provided in drawing 151D in Attachment A. The tank <br /> is located within a metal shed used for oil changes on semi-trucks. <br /> • Design standard if available to which tank and ancillary equipment was designed {22 CCR <br /> §66265.192(k)(2)1 <br /> The AST is constructed and listed in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. 550 <br /> UL 142 utilizing steel inner and outer tanks. <br /> • Material of construction {22 CCR §66265.192(k)(2)(a)) <br /> Primary and secondary tanks are constructed of steel. <br /> • Material thickness and method used to determine thickness f2 CCR§66265.192(k)(2)(b)} <br /> Primary and secondary tanks are 10 gauge (0.1345 inches). <br /> • Description of tank system piping (material, diameter) 122 CCR �66265.192(k)(2)(01: <br /> The tank is filled through a 2" fill port on top of the tank. The fill port is connected to a <br /> 1.5" flexible reinforced hose that connects to the fill port via a 1" steel 90° elbow fitting. <br /> The source of the used oil is an oil drain pan. Oil from the pan is pumped to the AST <br /> using a double diaphragm pump.
