The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br /> addressed for QUEST INDUSTRIES LLC as of January 11, 2021. <br /> Open violations from November 04, 2020 inspection <br /> applicable to each individual waste stream. <br /> (D) Evaporation of water from hazardous wastes in tanks or containers, such as breathing and evaporation through <br /> vents and floating roofs,without the addition of pressure, chemicals, or heat other than sunlight or ambient room <br /> lighting or heating. <br /> (3) This subdivision does not apply to any activity for which a hazardous waste facilities permit for treatment is <br /> required under the federal act. <br /> (c) "Treatment"does not include the combination of glutaraldehyde or orthophthalaldehyde,which is used by <br /> medical facilities to disinfect medical devices,with formulations containing glycine as the sole active chemical, if the <br /> process is carried out on-site. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately cease treatment of hazardous waste paint until a permit is issued by the EHD, <br /> California Department of Toxics Substances Control or the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Store <br /> and dispose of the hazardous waste as specified in Title 22 California Code of Regulations until the treatment permit <br /> is obtained. Contact the appropriate regulatory agency to initiate the permit process. Provide a corrective action <br /> statement and supporting documentation to the EHD within 30 days. <br /> ❑ This violation was corrected ❑This violation will be corrected by(date): <br /> ❑ Supporting documents included <br /> Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation: <br /> Violation#303-Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems,spill control,or decontamination <br /> equipment. <br /> OBSERVATION:The eyewash station near door M-4 had plumbing issues and was not working properly. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:All facility communications or alarm systems,fire protection equipment, spill control <br /> equipment, and decontamination equipment,where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure <br /> its proper operation in time of emergency. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Bring the eye wash station into proper working order by repair, replacement or testing. <br /> Provide a corrective action statement to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br /> 1 ❑ This violation was corrected ❑This violation will be corrected by(date): <br /> ❑ Supporting documents included <br /> Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation: <br /> Page 10 of 22 <br />
