As we discussed, SKS is phasing <br />out the manure pond and they want to fill the pond with soil. The remaining liquid needs to be pumped out of the <br />pond and placed in the adjacent pond as SKS has been doing in the past. The remaining manure should be <br />scraped out of the empty pond and dried adjacent to the pond. We do not want SKS to use their dry pad (to the <br />east of the bunker) for drying this manure. The dried manure can be collected and composted or sold to farmers. <br />In order to fill in the pond with soil, SKS must contact the San Joaquin County Community Development <br />Department to get a Grading and/or Excavation Permit. <br />We need SKS to send my department a plan for this operation.
