Describe temperature monitoring and
fire prevention measure employed at the site to address the migration of fire -
related odors and products of combustion off-site. Include mitigations or
reference other sections of the OIMP to address fire impacts on off-site receptors.
There are several large agricultural wells on-site which have plenty of water
pumping capacity to augment fire fighting efforts. These can also serve along
with fire extinguishers as the initial source of fire fighting capabilities until local
Fire Department shows up. This well has a 50 horse power pump on it.
Spontaneous combustion cannot be ruled out. Therefore continuous daily
monitoring of the compost piles will take place and be documented.
SKS receives their electricity from PG&E. They also have a back up generator to
maintain the facility in case of a power outage.
PERSONNEL
The compost facility is on the same site as the poultry operation.
