Poultry Houses: There are three poultry houses.At the present time the facility operates <br /> year round with approximately 108,000 birds.The house was built in 1970. Each house is <br /> 54,150 square feet and made of structure metal.There is a single row of hanging cages with <br /> flush out systems beneath the cages.They have concrete floors.The chicken manure <br /> accumulates in a 3"ditch deep under the chicken cages.The employees flush out the chicken <br /> manure everyday. This process takes 3 hours to complete. Employees scrape one house a <br /> day to remove all the sand and debris accumulated in the ditch. Each house has a chicken <br /> pond. Each summer fresh water is added to chicken ponds to keep the same water level all <br /> the time. In the fall time the water level is reduced to prepare for the raining season and <br /> prevent and over flow.We estimate around 12.20 tons of wet manure a day. Dimension for <br /> the chicken ponds: 615 ft length x 380 ft width.We have no drains in this facility premise. <br /> Garbage disposal: We have no garbage container in this location.All garbage generated at <br /> this facility is carried to 18832 Mello Ave Ripon Ca 95366.The garbage disposal company is <br /> Gilton Solid Waste. Feed storage:Any feed that is being delivered to the chicken house is <br /> carried in 24 tons feed truck. The feed is being stored into feed tanks that are located in <br /> front of the chicken houses. Type of feed being used is made of mostly corn and other grain <br /> ingredients. <br /> Residences: There is 1 residence and 2 mobile homes one of which is unoccupied.They <br /> provide fresh water to the residences and poultry houses.There are 2 wells are within the <br /> poultry operation and pipelines transport water around the operation and to 1 residence <br /> and 2 mobile homes. <br /> Bird Mortality: S.K.S. has average of.05% mortality rate a week. The birds are <br /> incinerated. If large amounts of birds need to be disposed of,S.K.S.has to contact a <br /> Landfill or Tallow company. <br /> Septic Systems: There are 6 domestic septic systems on-site. They are located by the <br /> residences and mobile homes.These systems are for human waste only. They are <br /> underground and pumped out as needed by a commercial septic company. <br /> 5 <br />
