• Page 4
Brusca File No. 137-002 February 12,2018
Murphy Parkway Property Soil Gas Monitoring Wells
the SJCEHD has indicated that VP-1 should be abandoned in conjunction with the new
monitoring well installation work.
The soil gas monitoring well VP-1 was abandoned on January 16, 2018 via over-drilling with a
track-mounted drill rig. The abandonment work was performed by a licensed C-57 drilling
contractor with oversight by the SJCEHD. Following complete over-drilling of the soil gas
monitoring well, the resulting borehole was sealed with neat cement grout via tremmie in accord
with SJCEHD requirements.
SOIL GAS MONITORING
The required soil gas monitoring program consists of monthly monitoring for a period of one
year, and quarterly monitoring for a period of four years thereafter. The first
monitoring/sampling of the new soil gas monitoring wells was conducted on January 26, 2018,
following a 10-day equilibration period following well installation. The January 2018
monitoring results will be presented under separate cover in the near future. The February 2018
sampling/monitoring event is planned for later this month.
CLOSING
This report will be submitted to the SJCEHD, CalRecycle, and the CVRWQCB. Additionally,
Well Completion Reports will be submitted to the California Department of Water Resources as
required. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact the
undersigned at(916) 677-1470.
Sincerely,
BRUSCA ASSOCIATES, INC.
BRUSCA
t4o. 1948
aiTm{E4
ENG iNEERiNG
Jo Brusca GEOLOGW Q
ncipal Engineering Geologist OF CALFd¢?
Certified Engineering Geologist No. 1948
Attachments: Plate 1, Vicinity Map
Plate 2,Site Map
Plate 3,Detail Map
Plate 4,Log of Soil Gas Monitoring Well, SGMWI
Plate 5,Log of Soil Gas Monitoring Well, SGMW2
SJCEHD Well Permit Documentation
JB.jb
