training to include a "Basic Hazardous Waste Awareness <br />Course" given by the County Office of Emergency Services. <br />This course includes information on Basic Personal Safety, <br />Identification and Placarding, Agency Involvement and <br />Cleanup of Hazardous Waste. Also, there is an adequate <br />supply of minimal protection equipment provided personnel <br />at the disposal site. <br />C. NOTIFICATION TO SOLID WASTE HAULERS <br />The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is used primarily by <br />licensed haulers which collect commercial and industrial <br />waste and a franchised hauler which collects residential <br />waste for the south portion of the County. These collec- <br />tors have agreements with the County to perform these <br />collections. <br />These collectors received notification by mail of the <br />following: <br />Requirements of the California Regional Water Quality <br />Control Board, Central Valley Region, and numerous state <br />laws prohibit the disposal of hazardous wastes and.liquids <br />at Class III landfills. To monitor compliance with these <br />requirements a load checking program has been implemented <br />for the Corral Hollow Class III Sanitary Landfill fcr <br />detecting hazardous wastes and liquids which are prohibited <br />at the site. <br />-11- <br />
