LOCATION MD REgQRJRT1ON OF WINTER DISPOSAL SITE
The Winterization Plan will span the years 1990 through 1993 where
operations will begin in the fall and extend through the winter
season. The areas to receive waste during this time are as shown
in the topographic base map titled Winterization Plan. A schedule
has been provided showing the anticipated volume of waste to be
received during the winter period. The amount of waste to be
received is based upon a projected gate volume of 333, 031 cubic
yards for 1989 and a seasonal duration period of 4 months. The
waste fill volumes have been computed using a 15 foot lift above
existing grades with side slopes of 3 : 1 and a 3% grade slope as
required by CCR Title 23, Chapter 3, Subchapter 15. If sufficient
space is not available for the duration period then parts of
adjacent areas may be used as needed to provide for additional
space. Also, since final grading of the winter areas will be well
below the final grade of the landfill, additional lifts may be
added in subsequent years to extend the life of the winter
operations.
The area to receive fill excluding the winter pad will cover
approximately 5 acres. During the three year period (1990-1993)
about 128, 000 cubic yards of space will be utilized by compacting
refuse in Areas 1, 2, and 3. The order of operation will follow
