All berms will be constructed to a height of 18 in. and a width of 3 feet except for the berm running adjacent to Area 1. This berm will be built to a height of 6 in. and a width of 2 feet so as not to interfere with landfill operations. Storm water will be directed overside to the toe of the landfill, where erosion control will consist of riprap extending 15 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 1 foot in depth. Drainage will terminate south of Area 3 where runoff will continue offsite into Corral Hollow Creek. Areas where ponding may occur such as depressions due to settlement will be filled with cover soil to insure adequate drainage from the working fill area. Also, if natural runoff impedes normal operations then that portion of land will be graded to provide for proper drainage. In the unlikely occurrence that ponding does occur, storm water will be pumped and drained to the ditch along the perimeter of the fill area using a portable pump. IV. BORBQW STOCKPILE It is estimated that approximately 32, 000 cubic yards of cover material will be needed during winter operations for the years 1990 - 1993 (See schedule on winter plan) . Daily cover needed for operations during these years will be imported prior to winter operation needs. Daily cover is to be stockpiled with respect to the sequence of landfill operations. For winter operations corresponding to the interval 1990 - 1991 Area 2 will be used to stockpile cover material while Area I is being filled. The sequence of operations is shown in Table 1. V. SUMMARY The Winterization Plan is designed to provide for 3 years of seasonal operations through the winters beginning November 1990 and ending in spring of 1993.
