v <br />v <br />v <br />Board of Supervisors -2- <br />CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL <br />REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />C7 <br />The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill (CHSL) is owned jointly by <br />the City of Tracy and the County of San Joaquin. The City is <br />responsible for the daily operations of the site. The County's <br />Department of Public Works provides engineering and technical <br />support for the site. Based on current usage and design, the <br />site will reach its capacity during 1993. Afterwards, the City <br />will perform closure and postclosure activities. <br />The contracts which govern the contractual relationship, with <br />respect to the CHSL, between the City and the County are as <br />follows: <br />Agreement I. Agreement Between the City of Tracy and the <br />County of San Joaquin Relating to Solid <br />Waste Management. <br />This agreement, dated August 31, 1982,.deals <br />with operational issues, such as methods of <br />financing, use of the site, fees charged to <br />users, and operating hours. <br />Agreement II. Agreement Between the City of Tracy and the <br />County of San Joaquin Relating to Solid Waste <br />Management. <br />This agreement, which is also dated <br />August 31, 1982, addresses the <br />expansion/replacement of the CHSL. Through <br />the agreement the City and the County agreed <br />that the County would be the lead agency <br />responsible for securing the <br />expansion/replacement of the Landfill. <br />Agreement III.
