.7
C
9
Board of Supervisors -3-
CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL
On November 7, 1989, the Tracy City Council authorized City staff
to begin formal discussions with San Joaquin County concerning
the transfer of ownership and operations of the CHSL. City of
Tracy staff believe that due to the City's limited resources, and
lack of experienced solid waste staff, it is in the City's best
interest for the County to assume total ownership and operation
of the Landfill. On January 9, 1990, the Board of Supervisors,
by Board Order B-90-38, authorized the Department of Public Works
to meet and confer with City of Tracy staff concerning the CHSL.
Subsequently, the Department of Public Works staff met with City
of Tracy staff to develop the necessary agreements to accomplish
the transfer of ownership and operations of the CHSL to the
County effective July 1, 1990. Consequently, the following two
agreements were developed:
1. AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TRACY AND COUNTY OF SAN
JOAQUIN FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL PROPERTY AT THE CORRAL
HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL
This Agreement, in part, provides for:
a. The transfer of the City's real and personal
property to the County.
b. The transfer of all landfill equipment except
two water trucks, and a road grader.
C. Employment for the current City employees at
the Landfill.
d. The transfer of any operating deficit, or
excess revenues as a result of the 1989-90
operations.
e. The transfer of the funds which the City has
accumulated for the closure/postclosure of
the Landfill.
f. The cancellation of Agreements I, II, and III
between the City and the County.
