The facilities listed <br /> above are described in the following tables. <br /> k <br /> TaNEE <br /> ble 1 <br /> County m San Joali <br /> q`uiln P <br /> North Coun ecyol,ng Center a d Sanitary Laf'Il (NCRCSL <br /> RR <br /> FactWnr <br /> S11eet19 <br /> TYPE OF FACILITY Existing Facility— San Joaquin County owns and <br /> operates the Recycling Center at the NCRCSL which is a <br /> MRF at the landfill that receives and processes mixed <br /> municipal and pre-sorted waste from Areas A & B. <br /> Recyclable materials, such as metals, newspaper, <br /> cardboard, plastic, brown waste, wood and others, are <br /> pulled from the waste stream manually, and the residual <br /> material is landfilled on-site. brown waste and wood are <br /> currently taken to the organics processing area for <br /> processing. In the future an area may be designated for <br /> in vessel organics processing on-site. A Construction <br /> and Demolition Debris Recycling Program is available at <br /> this site. <br /> FACILITY CAPACITY The NCRCSL is currently permitted to process a peak of <br /> 825 tons per day. Currently, the site receives an <br /> average of 425 tons per day. About half if this waste is <br /> processed at other facilities and taken directly to the <br /> landfill. In 1995, the other half will be processed in the <br /> Recycling Center. <br /> EXPECTED The Recycling Center is currently diverting about 10% of <br /> DIVERSION RATE the overall waste stream it processes. The current <br /> diversion rate for Construction/Demolition loads is 53%. <br /> PARTICIPATING Refuse Service Areas A & B in the unincorporated <br /> JURISDICTIONS northern San Joaquin County, and Self Haul waste from <br /> the Cities of Lodi, Stockton, Lathrop, Manteca, Ripon, <br /> and Escalon. <br /> 5 <br />
