Engineering Design Proposal and Component,Costs
Orenco Advantex Domestic Wastewater Treatment System
Central Valley Baptist Church
1094$ S.Airport Way,Manteca,California
Dear Pastor Linder,
On April-14,2003, an informal meeting took place at"San Joaquin County Public Health.Services,
Environmental Health Department(EHD)to discuss the feasability of utilizing Orenco Systems
Incorporated(OST)AdvanTex domestic waste water treatment system to treat septic waste water
generated from the proposed church facility. Attending the meeting were Mr. Mike.Hdggins(EHD),Mr."
Raymond Borges(EHD),Mr. Larry Godinho (EHD),Mr. Bob Smith(OSI),Joe Souila(OSI),Mr.Rollin
Hail, (NOA&Central Valley Baptist Church),Mr. Garret Hubbart(NOA), and David Welch(NOA).
The-purpose of the meeting was for OSI to introduce Orenco waste water treatment:system technology to
EHD staff per their.request. -Mr. Smith presented a one hour talk focusing on recirculating sand filter
technology which the OSI AdvanTex system is based. Since the purpose of the meeting was to introduce
the system,no discussions regarding County acceptance of the treatment system was made. "Based on
several conversations with the EHD staff, a wastewater treatment system will be necessary for project
approval.
There are"several waste water treatment systems available on the market which range greatly in capitol
cost, performance, and maintenance. Itis our opinion that the OSI AdvanTex system has several benefits .
over other similar systems and is suitable"for your facility. Primary is that the system is reliable and.
produces consistent quality effluent according to OR OSI pumps and components are high quality
systeins which are widely used and available through out the United States. The pumps and panels, .
which are used in the AdvanTex system, are the same used in other popular applications. Secondly, the
AdvanTex system is quite effective in reducing biologic oxygen demand,.suspended solids, and is '
comparable in nitrogen removal(about 50 to 75% 50-60%being typical)compared to other similar
systems. We understand from Mr. Smith.that Orenco AdvanTex residential treatment systems are.being
used along the.Sierra Nevada foothill communities and number in the 1,000's there.
Since the meeting,we have submitted the addendum nitrate loading study(final draft)to Mr. Smith for
' an evaluation. Mr. Smith has determined, based on the Phase II uses proposed, the following major "
components would be required to configure an Advantex system for the church facility.• A complete parts
list and estimated costs are attached to this letter,
