Aiort.Wa
y,.Maeca _Cah
nt , fornia-
-- —. --- _ _ _ -
Dear Mr. Huggins,
The purpose of this letter is to formally inforrin the EHD that our office has been retained to
prepare engineering designs and provide the necessary information regarding an engineered
septic system for the subject site. Our firm is preparing a"package"which will contain the
system design details, installation manual, service manual, and maintenance agreements. Work
on this project is proceeding.
As we have discussed in several meetings and by telephone, an Oranco Systems AdvanTex
system has been proposed to treat 1,875 gallons peak flow (Sunday) and 436 gallons, average
daily flow (weekly) generated from the facility. 'We expect the total nitrate level from
wastewater to be approximately 70 mg/L-N. Nitrification will be performed in the AdvanTex
system. Denitrification in the AdvanTex system will result in a reduction between 50 and
75+percent of the influent total nitrogen level.
Additional denitrification will
occur within a shalIaw wastewater drip system buried 6 inches
—below orchard grasses. We'have consulted with the Mick Caneari, U.C. Davis Agricultural
Extension, and have selected Orchard Grass mix to be the primary consumer the nutrients and
moisture delivered by a subsurface drip dispersal system. We expect some microbial contribution
in the soil as well. The nutrient requirement for grass, irrigation requirements, and disposal field
size was calculated based on the average daily flow of the effluent.
f
Monitoring will take place at the outflow of the Oranco AdvanTex system and below the drip
irrigation system emitter.
The major system components are as follows:
1). One (1) 2,000 gal surge tank, no baffle, solids pump, alarm, manual diversion valve.
2). One (1) 3,000 gal Jenson chambered recirculation tank containing AdvanTex pumping package.
3). Two (2) AdvanTex AX 20 pods and splitter valve.
4). One (1)basin pumping package to pressurize geoflow dispersal field.
5). Geoflow effluent drip dispersal system buried 6 inches below the ground surface with monitoring
