Weber Avenue, 3`d Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
i Subject: Engineering Design Package For Orenco Advantex Wastewater Treatment System
Central Valley Baptist Church
10948 S.Airport Way,Manteca,California
San Joaquin County Use Permit No.UP-01.9
Dear Mr.Huggins,
Per the request of our client,we are submitting the following engineered septic system package for your
review. The design is for the proposed Central Valley Baptist Church located at 10948 S.Airport Way,
Manteca,California. Our office had prepared a Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study and Addendum
which found that the proposed project may impact the ground water quality of the area by the use of a
conventional septic system. The report recommended the use of an engineered septic system to mitigate
the nitrate impact to ground water from percolating effluent. This letter and enclosed package describes
the details of the engineered septic system.
Our office has recommended an Orenco Advantex treatment system due to its performance, capitol cost,
wide support network, parts availability, and general acceptance in other states and counties. The
Advantex treatment system is a recirculating packed bed filter that uses a highly absorbent engineered
textile for the treatment media. An Orenco VeriComm remote telemetry unit, which is a web-based
monitoring system, will be utilized for offsite monitoring and alarm response. The proposed system
consists of one(1) 2,000 gallon septic tank, one (1) 1,500 gallon surge tank, one (1) 1,500 gallon
recirculation tank,two(2)advantex AX 20 pods, one(1)pump basin, and Geoflow Wasteflow drip
system. The surface area of the AX 20 pods are 20 sq.ft each for a total area of 40 sq.ft. The average
daily flow is 436 gallons. The maximum sewage loading rate is 11 gal/sq.ft/day. The pods are capable
of much high loading rates and each is capable of 500 gallons per day treatment for a total of 1,000
gallons per day.
1
The system has been designed for full nitrification of influent and a nitrate reduction of between 50%to
80+% of the influent total nitrogen concentration. Additional treatment of waste water will be achieved
by a shallow waste water drip irrigation system placed within the root zone of a 5,284 sq. ft. field planted
with orchard grasses. It is anticipated that the grasses will fully consume the nitrate wastewater. The
requirement of waste water concentration for nitrate below 45 mg/L-NO3 (or 10 mg/L-N)will be
measured within three(3) shallow monitoring wells placed within the disposal field at a depth of 24
j inches.
The average nitrate concentration of the percolating effluent over a 12 month period is proposed to be
used for evaluation. It is expected that the hot summer months will not provide a waste water sample in
F
