3 Model Configurations <br /> For Phase 1, a number of different modeling configuration was analyzed due to the ongoing discussion <br /> about abandoning pipes, slip lining and other repair procedures. Since this is not relevant for Phase 2, <br /> there are fewer model configurations. The two different model configurations for Phase 2 that will be <br /> presented in the sections below, are both based on the Phase 1 layout of Model Configuration D-48. The <br /> below sections contain a brief summary of the nomenclature used for that particular configuration as well <br /> as the description of some new Phase 2 nomenclature. For the full Phase 1 nomenclature descriptions, <br /> please refer to River Islands Phase 1 Stormwater Mitigation Report dated April 2020. <br /> 3.1 Phase 1 nomenclature summary <br /> 3.1.1 Model D <br /> As the "D" model is the most recent estimation of Phase 1 layout, this model was used for the Phase 2 <br /> analysis. Compared to the "As Built" conditions, these are the things that changed for the D-model. <br /> i. Abandoning the pipe between lakes 12 and 11 modelled by removing this pipe from the model <br /> (Proposed modification) <br /> ii. Slip lining the 48 inches pipe between lakes 12 and 10 modelled by using a smaller pipe <br /> diameter, 32 inches (Performed modification) <br /> iii. Slip lining the 48 inches pipe between lakes 12 and Phase 2 lake modelled by using a smaller <br /> pipe diameter, 32 inches (Proposed modification) <br /> iv. The first 100 feet between lake 12 (phase 1) and phase 2 are reduced to 32" (original size 48"). <br /> 3.1.2 48 <br /> The 100-year 48-hour storm event is modelled.5 <br /> 3.1.3 Dynamic (d) and Static (s)6 <br /> Each model scenario is analyzed both for the event that the pumps (Phase 1 pump station' and Phase 2 <br /> pump station) are turned on and turned off. The scenario for when the pumps are turned off is analyzed to <br /> get the highest possible water surface elevation in the lakes. The results for these analyses is presented <br /> together with its dynamic counterpart since all other data, e.g. time to stabilize the water surface <br /> elevation, is non-applicable for this scenario. <br /> d.
