The report stated that brown liquid ALANIZ <br /> was leaking from a container that was believed to contain non-hazardous <br /> materials. Called the Union Pacific Railroad hotline at 1-888-877-7267. Spoke <br /> with Nick. He was not able to provide any more information than what was on the <br /> spill report and told me to call Mike Algots, Environmental Manager, <br /> 916-580-9999. <br /> Called Algots at 12:21 p.m. He informed me that Patriot Environmental Services <br /> was on their way to the site and that Hub Group would be the responsible party. <br /> He was not sure what the material was but said he would let continue to update <br /> me. Discussed with Lead Senior, Garrett Backus. Received an email update from <br /> Algots at mjalgots@up.com 12:42 p.m. with email information for Hub Group- <br /> Debbie Greenland dgreenland@hubgroup.com. <br /> Called Algots for an update at 3:16 p.m. I also received an email from him saying: <br /> Update to the incident: HGIU 645335 was the top container and HGIU 503374 was <br /> the bottom container. HGIU 503374 was reported to have a brown liquid on the <br /> top/side of the container. So HGIU 645335 was suspected to be releasing. Patriot <br /> confirmed that it did not release. This means that the brown liquid on the top/side <br /> of HGIU 503374 was from a prior unreported incident. Patriot is cleaning the <br /> container and the waste generated will be managed by GHD. <br /> Algot informed me that Union Pacific would be the generator. It is unknown where <br /> the release happened (anywhere in the country). Discussed with Elena Manzo and <br /> Garrett Backus, Lead Seniors. It was determined we would not need to respond <br /> to the incident but that I would need to write a violation to make sure that the <br /> waste was properly disposed of. Union Pacific is going to have Patriot <br /> Environmental clean up the side of the car and have GHD analyze it.
