Jowin,
Thank you for letting me know that SFPUC has not been contacted with a decision regarding a
permitting pathway for future discharges from this facility. I am cc'ing Rob Busby on this e-
mail. Mr. Busby is the Program Manager for the Land Disposal Permitting Program and can be
reached by e-mail at robert.busbyPwaterboards.ca.gov or by phone at 916-464-4666.
1 understand that SFPUC has continued its efforts to comply with the Notice of Violation by
capturing the discharges of waste and transporting the waste to appropriately permitted
facilities for disposal. I also understand that SFPUC does not intend to extend its interim
disposal plan beyond March 2021.
Please let me know if communication with Mr. Busby is unsuccessful or if a determination
regarding a permitting pathway is not provided to SFPUC by 28 February so that we discuss
ongoing compliance with the Notice of Violation.
Thanks,
Brendan
Brendan Kenny, P.G.
Compliance and Enforcement Section
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, R5s
From:Jung,Jowin <JJung(@sfwater.org>
Sent: Wednesday, February 17, 20218:28 AM
To: Kenny, Brendan@Waterboards<Brendan.Ken ny(@waterboards.ca.gov>
Cc: Garrett Backus [EH] <gbackus(@sicehd.com>; Cheung, Angela <ACheung(@sfwater.org>
Subject: SFPUC Response letter to NOV for Tesla Treatment Facility (9000 W Vernalis Rd,Tracy, CA) -
February 2021
EXTERNAL:
