AdvancedGeo
An Employee-Owned Company
18 January 2021 RECEIVED
Project No. 05-1278
JAN 18 2021
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Mr. Naseem Ahmed DEPARTMENT
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 E Hazelton Ave, Stockton, CA 95205
Email: nahmed(cD_sigov.org
Subject: Addendum to Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study
THREE B'S TRUCK AND AUTO PLAZA
14749 Thornton Road/Pennant Drive, Lodi, California
Dear Mr. Ahmed:
At the request of Three B'S Truck and Auto Plaza, AdvancedGeo, Inc. (AGI) has prepared
this Addendum to Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study for the property located at
14749 Thornton Road/Pennant Drive, Lodi, California (site). This Addendum was
prepared to provide a revised nitrogen loading rate as requested in San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (EHD) letter dated 07 January 2021.
The future site usage includes similar usage as the existing site usage. There are six (6)
existing toilets, and the site is being improved with three additional toilets and two
showers. Utilizing the San Joaquin County Onsite Wastewater Treatment System
Standards, the average and reasonable usage of 150 gallons per day (gpd) per toilet is
typical for the site setting (retails markets with public toilets). The average and reasonable
maximum usage of wastewater for the toilets at the subject property is 150 gpd per toilet,
for a total of 1,350 gpd. The average and reasonable maximum usage of wastewater for
the showers is 20 gpd per customer/person. Using an average of 30 customers per day
equals 600 gpd of total wastewater use for the showers.
The total nitrate-nitrogen (NO3_N) average concentrations in commercial waste is
85 mg/1-N.
The weighted average calculation for total nitrogen concentrations for onsite commercial
flow is proposed as the following:
• Commercial volume 1,350 + 600 = 1,950 gpd.
• Commercial concentration 85 mg/1-N (EHD standard).
• The flow concentration of 165,750 mg/1-N gallon.
837 Shaw Road • Stockton, CA 95215
Telephone (800) 511-9300 • Fax (888) 445-8786
